I have accumulated quite a lot of vintage scarfs lately, but most of the time, they are sitting around in my closet, because I don’t always want to wear them around my neck. I was looking for some inspiration about alternative ways to wear them, and found the above inspiration board from backinthedays and some great ideas from today on wearing vintage scarfs:
1. Wear them on your head. You can find a great tutorial here.
2. Wear it as a top:
3. You can wear your vintage scarf as a belt:
4. Sew yourself a minidress or tunic. I have seen this around on Etsy and I think, this is pretty easy. You need two vintage scarfs for this. You will have to sew the side seams and the top of your scarfs, leaving room for your head and arms and just belt it with a wide or skinny belt and you’re done:
5. Fashion your home: If you are a collector of scarves like me, why not put the scarves out of the closet and show them off in your room. Just sew the squares together and hang them as a curtain or put them as a quilt on your bed. You can also frame them and hang them up as pictures. This is a great idea, if you want to wear them again after a while.
